Hey Guys,
So I know we see everyone less because of the end of Marching season, but I hope everyone's enjoying concert band, and excited about winter drumline. A few things I've got on my mind right now...
1. Friday Night downtown performance 7-9. This is very important, it's part 1 of a two part downtown fundraising gig, and hey, we got free t shirts for it! It's expected that you do everything you can to make it, Annie Get Your Gun pit members are excused...
2. I've been thinking about the whole basketball halftime/pep rally type of show that we have, and as our drumline gets better we'll be able to put together more of an actual show at these things instead of just playing. Don't get me wrong, playing is cool but what makes it amazing are visuals, moving, and themes so start thinking about that. I think we could put together a pretty cool show similar to Michigan's famous sing sang sung show, more of a fun relaxed, but also technical show, using some parts from series/throw it down/ winter line and some written bridge parts written for visuals, like some of the following visuals....
Traditional Grip Stick Tricks
Scojo’s “Hi Mom” www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJJRaLiA6Qg&feature=PlayList&p=42D684B6FAABD47C&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=24
Stick Juggle Roll - www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3XsZRBtS3w&feature=related
Visuals
Tenors on stands, parts where snares play on tenors, relaxed, fun feel
3. Shirts will be at drumline parctice wed. I'd like it if everyone went so that we can get a picture with everyone wearing them. EVEN IF YOU AREN'T DOING WINTER LINE, please come.
Anyone have any revisions or ideas?
